Interstellar : the possible future

INTERSTELLAR : THE POSSIBLE FUTURE

Interstellar is an epic science fiction film. It is set in a hellish future of the Earth where humanity is struggling to survive. This leads a crew of astronauts to travel through a wormhole in search of a new home for humanity. In the near future, the Earth is getting polluted and exhausted of resources due to which there are frequent dust storms which result in the extinction of crops. Corn was one of the last ones. At a time when they needed farmers more than engineers their only hopes for survival depends on either saving the crops with biotechnology or finding a place for humans on some other planet. The 2nd possibility is what is shown in the movie, where mankind is struggling to find another habitable planet nearby.

Even this plan has 2 further plans. The first of them is finding a planet suitable for human life and the second is taking the varied gene-culture of humans to another planet and growing them there leaving all human behind.
NASA is searching life for a long time by sending manned missions to different planets through a wormhole near the planet of Saturn. No one knows who put those wormholes there so we refer then as "they". The movie deal with a kind of travel paradox known as the predestination paradox in which a person travels back in time in order to prevent some event but accidently results in triggering the very same event wish is shown when you see the ghosts and gravitational anomaly in Murph's room in the movie.

To me, the best part of the movie was the emotion the actors display and how real their relationships were. The mind-blowing fact that people can age 20 years in few hours.I really liked tension scenes like the big wave, the betrayal of Mann and loved the sense of wonder the movie gave. It's one of the fiction movies I most enjoyed watching 'cause of the phenomenal acting, the fantastic visuals and cinematography and to top it all of, the music is nothing less than perfect. If you are or not a sci-fi movies fan I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this suspenseful story.

CARNIVAL OF VENICE

                                                      THE HISTORY OF VENICE CARNIVAL
THE  VENICE CARNIVAL is celebrated in the city of Venice before Christian Lent but days always vary, and is one of the most important Carnivals of the world and the most important of Italy.
At this time venetians and so many visitors dress in masks and costumes to dance through the streets and canals of this city ,which is filled with dancers, acribats, and theater plays.
Each disguise and each masks has its history and symbolize something. The participants of this carnival wear the costumes of 16 th and 17th centuries.During this holiday it is very typical to eat a sweet called "Fritole".

                                                           ORIGINS

The Carnival of Venice dates back to the 11th Century ,although no public holiday was declared with two centuries later. With the occupation of Venice bu the army of Napoleon Bonaparte the Carnival was for bidden for fear of conspiraces.
The Carnival was recovered in 1979.

                               THE CARNIVAL THEN AND NOW
The main difference from before and now is that before,it was only for a great minority, that is,the aristocracy. And now it is for all who want.Apart from this there was also a period in which the carnival was private and not public.
Also appeared new shows like the "Flight of the Angel".

                              MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
I never have been to the carnival but I would love it since everyone says that it is spectacular. It would be fantastic to dress in the typical costumes and with the masks.

My favourite character is Hanna Marin, actually I have two favourite characters Hanna and Caleb. I'm gonna start talking about Hanna. She's my favourite carácter because she's so funny and I don't know, I like her that's all. Then I'm gonna talk about Caleb. I really like him because I love the way he treats others in all situations and I really like how he acts. I think they are the best couple on the show.

I'm watching it because of a friend and I'm so grateful to her.
I really recommend you to watch it because if you like drama films or wathever, you're gonna love it! If you like mystery you're gonna love it too and there are more categories in it.
There are seven seasons so you can imagine that in this series a lot of things happen. And I really love that, I mean, a lot of things have completely changed in the last season. You have to watch it!

MY TRIP TO THAILAND.

My trip to Thailand was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, of those that one would like to relive again and again, but seeing the wonderful photographs that I took I am happy because they have th epower to make me teleport to that exotic country baptized as the "Country of Smiles".
I went to Bangkok, and we could say that Bangkok is the capital of Asia. In Asia almost everything goes through it and its 16 million visitors a year make it the most visited city in the world and one of the most amazing of the entire Asian continent. And something that caught my attention was that Bangkok is a city of contrasts, inn a neighborhood as soon you find a luxury building as a humble house and they coexist perfectly. No one looks bad at anyone. There is no envy, because they think the rich people have earned it by doing vell in previous lives.

BEFORE GOING.
I had been thinking about visiting Asia for a long time. I didn't see the right moment to see for myself everything that my friends had told me about Thailand, Asia and specifically Bangkok, and everything I read on the internet. A city that people say you love it or you hate it, there is no middle ground. I really wanted to check that saying. I wanted to be able to face all those places to see in Bangkok that people had told to me so much interesting things about them. I really wanted to see the Thai character, the Bangkok skycrapers at night, to try Thai food, etc. All the people told me that we all have to go to Thailand at least once in our lives, and now I am one of those who also say it. And I finally went on July with some Friends.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE GOING.

  1. Thailand is a constitutional monarchy with great political instability. It i snow safe to travel to the country. The religion of the Thais is Buddhism, and to a lesser extent Islam, Confucianism and Christianity. The official currency is the bath (one euro is currently equivalent to forty baths).
  2. The recommended vaccines to be administered before going to Thailand are the Tetanus vaccine, The Hepatitis A vaccine and the Hepatitis B vaccine. And then, in northern Thailand there is dengue and malaria, so if you plan to go to the border it is essential to wear mosquitoe repellent and long-sleeved T-shirts.
  3. You can't drink tap water.
  4. If the stay is shorter tan one month, only the Passport with a validity of at least six months is required. And if the stay is longer tan thirty days, it is mandatory to apply for a visa at the Embassy of Thailand.
  5. I recommend you to hire tours through Thailand once you are there, because they will be cheaper tan doing it from your country.
  6. etc.

PLACES TO VISIT.
  1. The Grand Palace and the nearby temples. Built in 1782, the Grand Palace was the king's house for 150 years. The architecture, the colors and the sculptures of the palace are interesting. After viewing the palace I suggest you to continue with three nearby temples: Wat Phra Kaew, it is the temple of the Esmerald Buddha dating back to the 14th century. The Wat Pho, also in the same área, contains the stretched giant Buddha and it is also a massage school. And finally, the Wat Arun, it is on the other side of the river and is probably the most important of all, and climbing up the temple is totally worth it, it's a blast!

  1. The next stop in Bangkok will be in one of the most famous neighborhoods in the city. Visiting the Chinatown in Bangkok is one of those things you can't miss in the city. There are a lot of Street stands that sell you absolutely everything on sidewalks and in the middle of the road. And all that decorated with hundreds of giant neon colored lights. A neighborhood that when night comes, this gives a special touch that doesn't have during the day. I'm sure you'll appreciate it!

  1. Another thing to see, real authentic and not to be missed, is some of its floating markets. We opted for the famous floating market of Damnoen Saduak. Once there, you  have to be prepared to hallucinate with a tide of boats where you can buy fruits, handicrafts and even food that you'll see people cooking on the river.

  1. One of the biggest lungs of the city is the famous Lumphini Park. To those who have visited New York may remind you a lot of Central Park. Am I wrong? Spending an afternoon stroll in this beautiful park next to the city skyline of skyscrapers is one of those things to do in Bangkok.

  1. etc.

FINAL RECOMMENDATION.
As you have read, Thailand is a magical country. Obviously I've visited many other places, but if I tell you everything about my trip I wouldn't finish. My favourite thing was meeting wonderful people that I would never have known. I've been able to learn a lot from them.
At first, what I didn't like was having to get vaccinated, but then I realized that it wasn't a problem. There's probably something you don't like about the country or even the trip, but it doesn't matter, because I think that travelling gives you something very valuable, it gives you the possibility to meet new places, new people and it even helps you to know how to live in another place totally different from the one you are used to, it is something that teaches you a lot about life. I only hate one thing about travelling: packing, because I get nervous thinking what I'm gonna need and what I really won't need, and in the end I end up carrying things that take up a lot of space and are useless. So I really recommend you to visit Thailand, and only other place in the world, you won't regret!

The history of Fallas

Fallas is a festivity celebrated in the city of Valencia from the 15th to the 19th of March every year. During Fallas people dress up with the traditional dresses from the region. Fallas are mainly known for their big monuments: the fallas, which are burnt on the 19th of March (Saint Joseph’s Day and Father’s Day in Spain) at the end of this festivity. But, where does this celebration come from?

ORIGINS

No one knows exactly where Fallas come from, but it is believed that it was already celebrated in the Middle Ages! Carpenters burnt old artifacts and pieces of wood called “parots” to celebrate the arrival of spring. Parots were used to hang their candles during winter, but in spring they were no longer necessary. Carpenters made this celebration coincide with the festival of Saint Joseph, the carpenters’ patron.

FALLAS THEN AND NOW

It is thought that fallas were made originally with these ‘parots’ and old pieces of furniture, but the tradition continued to evolve. The ‘parots’ were then dressed and became ‘ninots’. Eventually, some of these ‘ninots’ began to represent famous people from the villages, and were used to criticise them. After a while, this celebration became popular. Fallas started to be built in Valencia on the streets. Because there were many of them, it was decided to name the festivity after these monuments: Fallas or Falles of Valencia.

Nowadays, Fallas is one of the most famous celebrations in Spain. The monuments aren’t old pieces of furniture or ‘parots’ anymore, but artistic monuments built to be burnt.

What are idioms?

The word "idioms"in English is a false friend with "idiomas" in Spanish, but they do have something to do with the language. The definition of idiom is: a group of words whose meaning cannot be deduced from the individual meaning of those words.
